Two Door Cinema Club - Sleep Alone
I just had to post this today. Their new album, Beacon, comes out this week and this was the first release. I've listened to their first album hundreds of times and will probably listen to it another hundred times and enjoy it just as much every time. This song is a good sign, no, a great sign, that their new album will be just as good as the first. I think this song has just the right amount of energy, and the transitions from soft sound to bursts of energy make it perfectly catchy from beginning to end. It's a like-the-first-time-you-hear-it type song. That happens a lot with this band. TDCC has the type of music that can be played full blast so you can feel every piece of it and get lost in it, or faintly in the background to calm you down. It's very refreshing.

Say my name and every colour illuminates, we are shining and we will never be afraid again
Florence + The Machine vs. Calvin Harris - Spectrum (Say My Name)
Another house track for you as the last week of August looms before us. Stellar song to say the least. Enjoy the fist pumping fun in the car with the windows down and the sunshine around you while you still can! The original song is already pretty decent, but the house beat just amplifies Florence's voice and takes the track to a whole other level. What a voice, especially the chorus, which is the best part of the original and the remix. It was meant to be a house song. I feel like I wouldn't have been surprised if I found out there was no original track. I'll be honest, I haven't listened to much music by Florence + The Machine, only radio releases, but based on a couple of remixes I've come across, I find that the twisting of the originals gives the tracks more power and emotion.

Maybe heaven right now is a devil or angel away, that won't change. Together we vow that our colours will sparkle the faith.
Sebastian Ingrosso and Alesso - Calling (Lose My Mind)
I've been told I don't post enough house music. So here's one that has been big for me this summer; blows up the speakers every time. There are quite a few remixes of it, but I've just posted the original. The vocals are awesome - if you follow my posts, you may recognize this guy - Ryan Tedder from One Republic. His voice totally compliments the buildups and doesn't take away from the melody. For the most part, I tend to enjoy house songs that have vocals, and I'm not a huge fan of long buildups (of course there are exceptions). This song has the type of buildups I like: short and sweet. I'm gonna say the best place to hear this song is at a club; that's the first place I heard it. Shazam came in handy again for sure. Fist pump to that shit!
