Great song for lying in bed on a cloudy day like today. I can totally relate to these lyrics as I find myself to often be a pessimist. Not always, but often. It's not a great quality, but I think that it's often realistic. My reasoning behind pessimism is that if I expect little, my expectations can be met without disappointment or I can just be pleasantly surprised. Optimism is admirable, but hard to maintain. To be an optimist, you have to be able to handle anything that comes your way and prepared to be let down. I think the key would be to find a balance between the two, and be a realist, knowing that realism isn't always negative.
